We just moved into a new house a couple of weeks ago. It’s so much more roomy, and we can have a bunch of people over without feeling like we’re all on top of each other. I am so excited to have our housewarming party, and since it’s October, I get to have a Halloween-themed party. Halloween is my absolute favorite Holiday, so I am a happy hostess.
Since like 90% of the parties we have are kids’ parties, I rarely get to serve any fun *adult* drinks. And while I’m no bartender, I love to get creative with alcohol. I tend to get really preoccupied at my own party, I wanted something that I could make in a big batch to give myself a chance to relax and enjoy our friends and family. Sangria is perfect because you make it a few days ahead of time, so it’s one less thing to worry about in the day-of-the-party rush. To go with the Halloween theme, I went a step beyond, making it a Spooky Sangria.
First, you need a very large drink container. I have this awesome pitcher with a spout that holds like two gallons. You’ll also need a few different kinds of fruit to put this together. I went a little crazy, but I was really hoping it would make a sort of fruit punch for grown ups. I also threw in some sparkling water, and a bit of orange juice. And of course, the most important ingredient here is the wine.
