Hi, my name is Angela and my house is usually a disaster but I love entertaining! I’m sure I’m not alone. I have four kids, I work full time hours from home, volunteer at my kids’ schools more than I have time for, and also try to maintain an active social life. So needless to say, house cleaning isn’t at the top of my list.
But since I love having people over, I at least try to keep the downstairs part of the house clean. That’s where the “adult living room” is, as well as the kitchen, dining room, my parents’ room (yep they live with us) and the guest bathroom. But since that’s the only bathroom downstairs, it gets used a lot.

While the impending doom of election results looms over the United States, you can still have a little fun! Just kidding about the doom, maybe, a little. But I’m not kidding about the fun. How fun are these candy-coated “vote” Oreos? Perfect for your election day party (do people have those?), to give out at the office (minus political opinions, please), or bring some down to your wonderful poll workers on voting day!
Disclosure: We received tickets and food vouchers from Knott’s Berry Farm so that we could share our thoughts on the limited-time Knott’s Spooky Farm weekend event!
It’s officially Halloween Season! Yes, Halloween is totally a season. My favorite one at that. I do everything I can to cram as many activities and events into the 31 days of October. And one of my favorite things to do is spend the day at Knott’s Spooky Farm.
During this special weekend-only family event, the cobweb-lined streets of Ghost Town have more fun than frights… [Read more…]

A new children’s show has hit Amazon Prime Video, and it’s teaching kids a really important lesson. It’s okay to make mistakes!

My almost-three-year-old daughter is the baby of the family. I guess that’s why I’ve lagged a little bit on getting her to properly sleep in her own bed. But I’ve reached a level of exhaustion that I didn’t think was possible. I can’t take the midnight wake up calls anymore. I can’t handle being pushed out of my bed by a tiny human who takes up more space in the bed than my husband and I put together. I need to sleep through the night! Which means she needs to sleep through the night…
Recently there was a conversation in a local facebook group that I help run about legitimate work-from-home jobs for moms. Many moms felt that it was impossible to actually get work done with kids at home, and that you still need some form of child care to be successful.
“No way!” I chimed in. I mean, I’ve been at it for years now, even answering work emails while in labor. Aside from the fact that my living room is never clean and my kitchen is a literal nightmare, I still manage to get my work done mostly on time. I’m a Modern American Woman! I can be effective! I can do it all!
Life is funny sometimes.

Even though I have four kids, I’m way past the double stroller days. In fact, my 4-year-old would rather push his two-year-old sister in the stroller than ever ride in it again. And my two-year-old, sometimes she wants to sit, and other times she wants to “do it by myself.” And 99% of the time she wants to do it barefoot.
